You Trained for Years to Compete at a High Level. What If Your Next Career Called for the Same Drive?

Former athletes know what it takes to show up every day, push through setbacks, and compete to win — and those same qualities make for exceptional financial advisors. Whether you're a former college athlete, a retired pro, or simply someone who's always brought a competitor's mindset to everything you do, you'll find a supportive environment here dedicated to helping you grow professionally and personally.

Our Mission

Our mission is to build enduring relationships that inspire financial security. We take a holistic approach to insurance and investments to provide comprehensive financial planning, backed by a best-in-class advisor support platform and an experienced advisor mentorship program.

We're proud to support local organizations including Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie, and the Poughkeepsie Foodbank.

Why Former Athletes Thrive Here

The discipline, resilience, and competitive drive you built through sports translate directly into a career in financial services. What matters here isn't your playbook — it's your ability to set goals and chase them, bounce back from a loss, build real relationships, and outwork the competition. Two of our own leaders came up through athletics: James Wong played baseball from Little League through the collegiate and professional level before coaching youth sports, and William Brammer captained his high school football team and went on to coach wrestling and multiple junior athletic programs. Their competitive backgrounds shaped how they lead today.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Learning the business through hands-on training and mentorship
  • Working toward your required professional licenses
  • Collaborating with a team of professionals, several of whom came from athletic backgrounds themselves
  • Building your own client relationships and practice, with resources and guidance along the way
  • Shaping a business around your goals, strengths, and network — with entrepreneurial flexibility
This Opportunity May Be a Strong Fit If You:
  • Bring the same drive and discipline from athletics to your next career
  • Are motivated by performance and personal growth
  • Wanting greater ownership over your career
  • Desire to build a long-term professional practice rather than simply fill a job
What You'll Need:
  • A 4-year college degree (required)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to complete our Culture Index assessment as part of the interview process
Compensation & Growth: Performance-based compensation with uncapped earning potential — your effort determines your results, just like it always has.

Meet the Team:

Kevin Caccomo — Managing Director & Wealth Management Advisor, CFP®, ChFC®, CLU®, RICP®

With Northwestern Mutual since 2012, Kevin has built his career helping clients achieve financial security through personalized planning. He’s passionate about creating memories with his family, especially outdoor adventures and trips to Disney, and has a deep appreciation for travel.

James Wong — Financial Advisor/Growth & Development Director

James joined Northwestern Mutual in 2020. Baseball shaped his life from Little League through college ball at Post University and into professional baseball, followed by a role as Director of Baseball Operations and Head Coach for a youth sports organization in New York City. He credits the game with teaching him hard work, discipline, perseverance, and a love for continuous improvement — values he now brings to mentoring new advisors. A husband and father, James, is passionate about leading by example, both on the field and off.

William Brammer — Financial Advisor/Growth & Development Director
Raised in the Hudson Valley, William's leadership journey started in athletics — as captain of his high school varsity football team, and later as a coach for junior athletic teams and a wrestling program. He joined Northwestern Mutual's internship program in 2016, became a full-time advisor in 2017, and now serves as a Growth & Development Director for new advisors entering the firm. Outside the office, he enjoys time with his wife, baby, and two dogs around Wappingers Falls.

Alyssa Marchinek — Director of Selection

Alyssa recently joined the team as Director of Selection, where she connects driven, relationship-focused people with meaningful career opportunities. Outside of work, she loves spending time with family and friends, cooking, planning game nights and dinner parties, and creating photo and video projects.

Johnny Crawford — Director of Selection
Johnny has served as Director of Selection at Northwestern Mutual for the past nine months, connecting talented individuals with rewarding career opportunities. He's licensed in Life, Accident, & Health Insurance with over three years of client service experience.

If you're ready to see how your competitive drive translates into a career in financial services, we'd love to start a conversation.
